Dog Years

One of the album's most lighthearted moments — a humorous observation that in many ways, dogs have figured out what humans haven't. The song celebrates canine simplicity and loyalty with tongue firmly in cheek.

The whimsical tone is a deliberate contrast to the album's more serious tracks, and it showcases a playful side of Rush that doesn't always get enough credit. The arrangement is bouncy and fun, with a classic rock groove.

While some fans dismiss it as lightweight, others appreciate the reminder that Rush — often stereotyped as overly serious — had a genuine sense of humor. Not every song needs to be a philosophical treatise.
