The complex, interlocking parts recall the progressive instrumental tradition of "YYZ" and "La Villa Strangiato" while incorporating the heavier tone of the band's 2000s sound.

Having three instrumentals on one album was a bold statement — it signaled that Rush were no longer concerned about radio formats or commercial expectations, just making the music they wanted to make.
