Finding My Way

The album opener is a swaggering hard rock track that immediately showcases the band's Led Zeppelin influence. The riff-heavy approach and Geddy Lee's high-pitched vocal delivery drew obvious comparisons to Robert Plant. Lifeson's guitar work is front and center with a bluesy, aggressive tone.

The song was a staple of early Rush live shows and remained in rotation even after Peart joined. It's essentially the sound of a young band bursting with energy, eager to prove themselves on stage.

In later years, a snippet of "Finding My Way" was sometimes woven into live medleys, a nod to the band's humble origins. Geddy Lee has noted that the early material was very much about capturing the raw energy of their live bar-band performances.
