Built on simple but effective rock riffs, the song features a surprising waltz-like middle section driven by synthesizers, demonstrating that even as Rush moved away from keyboards, they hadn't abandoned creative arrangement ideas.
The lyrics somewhat harken back to the media-critical themes of Signals, but with the sharper, more concise writing style Peart had developed. It was released as the third single from the album.
