Entre Nous
A sophisticated meditation on the barriers between people — the title is French for "between us." Peart explores the idea that even in our closest relationships, there are always walls we can't fully break down. The tone is more melancholy and introspective than the album's bigger tracks.
Musically, it features one of Lee's most melodic bass lines and some lovely guitar textures from Lifeson. The arrangement is relatively restrained by Rush standards, letting the lyrical content breathe. It demonstrates the band's growing comfort with mid-tempo, emotionally nuanced material.
While never a major concert staple, it was revived for the Snakes & Arrows tour in 2007 to great fan enthusiasm, proving that deep cuts from this era still resonated decades later.
